Michael Carlos Duncan was a passenger in a white Kia Soul when he and the driver, a woman, got into an argument with the woman's ex-boyfriend on the 14500 block of Earlham Court in Woodbridge on Oct. 16, 2023, county police said.

During the encounter, Duncan fired a handgun toward the victim, striking him once in the lower body, authorities said. The victim retreated to the home and fired his own weapon multiple towards the vehicle, according to police.

"The female driver of the vehicle was known to the victim from a previous relationship," PWC police said.

The victim was treated at an area hospital for his non-life threatening injury. No other injuries or property damage were reported.

Duncan was later identified as a suspect and captured on Feb. 8, 2024. He was charged with abduction, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and aggravated malicious wounding.
